Indigo Heritage: "Sarangi" Block Print
1. Measure Full Height and Width
Measure the entire height and width of the wall, regardless of any obstacles such as doors, windows, or staircases.
- Measuring Multiple Walls
When measuring more than one wall, measure the height of one of the walls (usually the same as the rest) and add together the individual widths to calculate the total combined width. - Measuring Sloped Walls
For walls with sloped ceilings or angled sections, measure the highest point and the widest point of the wall. Slopes should be ignored for measurement purposes to ensure full coverage.
2. Calculate Square Footage
To determine the total area in square feet, use the following formula:
(Wall Height in inches × Wall Width in inches) ÷ 144 = Square Feet
Ensure measurements are taken in inches before converting to square feet.
3. Include a Margin of Error
As the wallpaper is produced to your exact specifications, we recommend adding an additional 10% to the total square footage. This margin accounts for any adjustments required during installation.

Provenance
This Indigo Heritage: "Sarangi" Block Print, inspired by traditional block-printing from Rajasthan, reflects India’s rich textile heritage. The indigo tones evoke the calming and natural dye process, a key element in Indian art, particularly associated with the artisans of Jaipur. The repetitive motifs not only highlight the precision of handmade craftsmanship but also bring a sense of rhythmic harmony to any space.
Block printing is a labor-intensive process, requiring the careful carving of wooden blocks, dyeing, and manual stamping. Each imperfection in the design is a testament to the human touch behind this heritage technique.
